How We Fundraise Locally

Bridlington Food Festival Stall

Fundraising – Everyone has a part

Each Sea Cadet unit is a charity in its own right. They are responsible for raising the funds for their own activities, courses and events. When donating to a Sea Cadet unit, you can be certain that the money will be spent on young people in the local area.

Get involved and make the difference

Our Cadets enthusiastically participate in fundraising events to support their activities and contribute to their communities.

Everyone can help. It could be selling cake, handing out fliers, helping with RNLI flag days or staffing the car park (parents and staff) at local events. Working as a team, the cadets contribute to the efforts of the unit as a whole. Every fundraising target that we hit is a success that they have helped earn.

Say Hello

Most of our new recruits have come from direct contact with our cadets. Whilst running the stall, our cadets have been able to talk to people face to face and share their experiences.

We have learnt so much from listening to the stories of those that visit our stalls. We meet cadets from all over the country who are visiting with their families or on holiday and ex cadets who love to pass on their experiences.

So please, say hello.

First Steps

Our first fundraising stall was a simple table at the Old Town Dickensian Festival. At this event, stalls were hosted by shop owners throughout Bridlington Old Town.

Branching Out

With the permission of our friends in the RNLI, we took our wares to the sea front and sold cake to the families visiting Santa’s Grotto.

Trying Something New

Expanding our range of goodies, we took to the seafront again during the Race the Waves event. This time with a Gazebo and extra tables for all of the things that the cadets and their families had been making.

Success With A Tombola

The cadets had a great time selling Tombola tickets at the Bridlington Lions Carnival. The stock of prizes have almost all gone so we restocked our lollipop game.

Having Fun With Our Boat Race

It wouldn’t be Sea Cadets if we didn’t have some boats. Using fly swatters to waft boats down some water filled guttering is a hilarious way to spend the afternoon.

After The Parade

Some of our cadets gathered at our stall after parading with the veterans on Armed Forces Day.

Bridlington Food Festival Stall

Bridlington Food Festivals

We have made a name for ourselves selling home made scones at the local food festivals. We sometimes add chilled fruit pots, sweets and other items but it wouldn’t be the same without our fresh cream scones.

Old Town Vintage event

This event is always well attended with many different local groups getting involved, dancing singing and Old Guard parades.

Old Town Lantern Parade

When the nights are getting dark and there is a bite to the air, the lantern parade is always full and pulls a nice crowd.

Bridlington Kite Festivals

The Annual Kite Festival is a site to see. Situated on the cliff tops at Sewerby, there is plenty to see.

Helping out with North Wolds Lions

Bridlington Sea Cadets had a great time out at Flamborough, helping our friends in the North Wolds Lions. We look forward to helping them again next Christmas as they spread Christmas cheer and raise funds for numerous local charities around the area.

Filey Fishtive Tree

We were able to help our friends in Filey Sea Cadets support the annual switch on of the Fishtive Tree.
